I can't leave deviantArt. At least not now.  I still probably won't post much but I'm keeping the account. I'm watching a lot of brilliant artists and I don't want to lose that and I'd miss all of the wonderful people I've met here. So for now, my account stays. I'll worry about being professional when I graduate.

I've been a deviant for a LOOooooonnnnggg time, but I'm going to be honest. I'm tired of this account and I'm tired of my work here.

For now I'm just storing most of my art and keeping some of the more recent stuff, but I have a feeling this is going to either be deactivated soon or else the artwork is going to be deleted and I will just keep it as a way to follow other people.

I have a website up for all of my original stuff now, and will be working during Christmas break to improve that. I'm still using deviantArt for now, but I will no longer be using it for original work and I will not be using it under this account. I'm also not going to give out my other account because frankly, I don't want to be connected with it professionally and I highly doubt that it will be aroung for too long either.

It's been fun, but I guess it's time to start taking steps to growing up...as depressing as that is.

Worst Day EVAR!

3 min read
Well, not the worst, but it's gotta be up there. I am speaking of yesterday which sucked on a very high level.

I started the day at the dentist which is bad enough. I had the appointment to finish up my root canal, because I still just had the temporary filling. Good news is because my front tooth is not a weight bearing tooth I only needed a filling and not a cap and the filling took like five minutes because you don't need ot be numbed if your tooth is dead.

On another positive note, I have only four cavities. That may not sound like good news, but two years ago when I went to Powell they told me I had like thirty, which was both embarassing and impressive. Yeah, I have four. Everything else can either be reversed or stopped before it turns into actual cavities. I'm getting them all filled in a month, then I'll be cavity free. Unfortunately they also surprised me with a cleaning yesterday, which I had not expected and took a lot longer then the filling. They assured me I'd still make class but yeah...I didn't so I skipped the first one.

I went to my second class and here's where the day gets really shitty. My class goes on for about an hour and a half because he doesn't usually go for the whole period. When I returned to my truck after it was over I found that someone had, in that small ammount of time, broken my window. And because I chose this day to not take my stuff with me, they made off with my laptop, ipod and adapter...so, after getting over the initial shock of seeing all of that broken glass I went immediately to the security office.

Some people from security followed me back to my truck and gave me some papers to fill out. They found the laptop bag in a garbage can across the street. Apparently we don't have cameras in our parking lots, so there's no way of identifying who did it.

After I was done filling out the info, one of the security girls told me to pull around to the admin building so they could help me tape up my window before it started to rain. I drove around and parked in the parking lot behind the building. By now the sirens were going off and when I met the security officer she promptly told me to follow her into Kinney because we had to take cover for the tornado warning.

So, I spent the next forty minutes waiting for that to pass and then met her again outside and stood in the rain while they put a trashbag over my window. Needless to say I didn't bother going to my last class, although it wouldn't have mattered anyways because all of my homework was on my computer. Because of lousy traffic it took me an hour and a half to get home and then I spent much of the rest of the evening filing a police report.

So yeah...top that.

Gettin to that time again y'all. I've been having halloween costume blues for the third year in a row. Last year I attempted to go as Princess Mononoke which meant I had to make most of the costume myself and after failing miserably in a few key areas gave up and wound up putting together some weird crap from my collection of wigs and random costume items at the last minute. The result was dubbed Squalleroth by my friends, which is all fine and good but I'm thinking I'll go as an ACTUAL character this year rather then some weird hybrid.

Originally I was going to try to do Princess Mononoke again since I still have most of the costume, but my guess is there was a 75% chance I'd fail in the same areas a second time. Then my friend Sean mentioned coming over to pass out candy with his family, who always do a theme (This year it's super heroes) which sounded awsome. Only problem is I can't stand most of the gal super heroes. I thought about going as Harley Quinn, which sounds great in theory until I looked into how to get together her costume. The pre made ones are ugly as sin. I found one custom one that isn't too bad, but it'd cost me over a hundred dollars and because of the make of her costume I do not think I could find the items myself. So, after disgarding that idea I looked into a few of the super heroines I didn't hate as much like Raven and Rogue, but I'd run into the same problems with both, mainly in expenses and if I could find a dark blue hooded cloak that looked good for a decent price, believe me, I'd already have it.

For a little while I seriously considered just buying the Silk Specter costume from Watchmen because it was affordable and looked pretty nice and the wig would have been a snap (If I don't already have it I could easily find it for pretty cheap) but as much as I love Watchmen I really really really hate Laurie. I hate her so much in both the comic book and the movie.

So I guess superheroes are out then :(

Sooooo...I was out of ideas and figuring that Squalleroth was going to make a comeback whether I liked it or not when something occured to me this morning and this is partially thanks to a friend of mine who borrowed all of the dvds from me, partially because of all of the cosplay websites I visited while searching for Harley Quinn and partially because I recently started watching the episodes again, but you know who would be really fun and really easy to dress up as and would allow me to wear goggles? Ed from Cowboy Bebop. I'm not sure why I didn't think of her before. So, now all I have to worry about is dressing up as a character who wears shorts, a cut off top and bare feet in late October. :aww:

Crap, school starts in two days. Ew. I've been stuck in la la land for the past few weeks for various reasons and I am not in the mindset to be thrust once more into major responsibility and crippling stress. I've also been fairly giddy lately for...probably the wrong reasons (No I am not on drugs :p) and now I have to go back to the inevitable temper that will develope around week three of classes. And school starting means that fall is on its way, which is fine, fall is great, I'm looking forward to the apple cider and the leaves changing and Halloween and I guess my birthday although the last one was kind of the suck so I don't really know what to expect. I've gotten pretty sick of the 90 degree weather this summer.

But fall means winter and I am NOT looking forward to winter. Winter can die in a fire. I'm sure that my oppinion will change when it gets closer but for now I do not wish to face the wind chill in Ohio, nor am I looking forwrad to driving on 315 while it's snowing. It's amazing how annoying winter gets when you get older. It's like one giant headache. Plus there's the seasonal depression to look forward to. Hehe, actually because I go to an art college and am surrounded by art kids most everyone is effected by seasonal depression so it's kind of funny to see the campus when the seasons change. I love my little art students, we're all such personality disorder riddled antisocial nutcases.

Oh well, I guess it'll be nice to return to some structure. I've been kind of restless this summer so maybe school will make my down time fun again and I do have some good classes. I finally got into a writing poetry class and I have Children's Book illustration with some friends and a teacher who I like a lot. Hopefully this makes up for the business glass I have to take or the stupidly late Profession Practice class. :bleh:

Okies, enough ranting. Have a nice day everyone. I'll be spending my last two days of summer break at work. :dohtwo:
